Photo Genesis is a way to quickly, safely and comfortably improve your skin’s texture, tone and color. Dramatic results are typically seen in one to two treatments, but additional treatments may be needed for densely freckled, very large or dark spots and excessively sun damaged skin. Book in for a complimentary consultation to determine your individualized treatment plan. This treatment can be used to lighten pigmented lesions such as freckles, sun spots, age spots, hyperpigmentation and melasma. A laser using a controlled amount of therapeutic heat is used to sweep away melanin-the cell that is responsible for the dark pigment in the skin.We cannot perform this treatment with recent, unprotected sun exposure.
Best suited for pigmentation due to acne scarring, sun damage and melasma. This treatment has little downtime and will leave you glowing.

Pre Care
The treatment area must be protected from the sun with a full spectrum sunblock of SPF30 or greater for at least four weeks prior to treatment. Sunless tanner may not be used on the treatment area 2 weeks prior.
You must discontinue Retin A, Retinol, Renova or Tazorac two weeks before treatments.
You must discontinue the use of photosentizing medications prior to treatment, or come with a Doctors note allowing laser treatments.
You must discontinue the use of Accutane, and similar medications, for at least six months prior to treatment.
Please arrive with the treatment area free of all make-up and antiperspirant.
Post Care
The treated area must be protected from the sun using a full spectrum SPF 30 or greater for at least four weeks after treatment, or during the entire course of your treatment package.

We have just opened your follicles using heat from the laser and things we love like hot tubs and pools can invite bacteria in. Please avoid for 24-48 hours after treatment for best results.
Love the heat or to sweat? Us too! However, we recommend you avoid heated or strenuous exercise, saunas, steam showers and other high heat activities for 24-48 hours after your treatment to limit the risk of adverse side effects.
Have more plans today? Go ahead and apply deodorant, moisturizers and most other skin care products immediately after your treatment. Make up may be applied 24 hours after treatment, or immediately following your treatment if it is fragrance-free, mineral make up.

Post Care
24 hours post treatment avoid hot water such as hot tubs, saunas, hot showers (if you need to shower use warm water), unnecessary sun exposure.
It is to be expected that the skin will be red and feel irritated, similar to windburn, for anywhere from one to several days after the treatment depending on individuals skin sensitivity.
Some acne spots may come to the surface as the pores are opened up from exfoliation.
In the 2-5 day post treatment the skin may slough or flake, proceed to hydrated the skin as needed.
No picking, scratching or pulling at the skin during healing as it may lead to hyperpigmentation
Mineral makeup can be used but it is best to wait 24-48 hours before using.
Hyperpigmentation may become darker before lightening as the pigment becomes closer to the surface.
Skin may feel itchy and tight so maintaining moisture levels with a gentle moisturizer is very important.
If the skin feels warm or has a burning sensation a cold compress, cooling gel mask or hyaluronic acid serum is recommended.
SPF is mandatory after the treatment. A minimum of SPF 30 is recommended.
